Prestwold Hall wedding filmmaker
Prestwold Hall sits quietly in the Leicestershire countryside, elegant without ever feeling showy. It’s a place that holds a sense of calm, with light moving gently through tall windows and rooms that feel lived in rather than staged. It’s the kind of venue that allows a wedding day to unfold naturally, without needing to force moments or over-direct the experience.
I filmed Jessica and Sam’s wedding here in September 2025, and the day felt completely at ease at Prestwold Hall. From the quiet anticipation of the morning through to the warmth of the evening celebrations, everything moved at an unhurried, natural pace. Their day was centred around connection, laughter, and being present with the people who mattered most, which is exactly where this venue shines.
Prestwold Hall is tucked away near Loughborough, with easy access from Nottingham, Derby, and Leicester, ideal for couples who want a countryside escape without being too far from the city. If you are planning your day here, Paul Cryer Films would be your perfect choice for your Leicestershire wedding at Prestwold Hall.
I work calmly and unobtrusively, focusing on the moments that happen when people feel comfortable enough to forget the camera is there. I’m drawn to the quieter exchanges, the small reactions, and the atmosphere of the day as a whole, rather than staging or directing events.

Filming a wedding at Prestwold Hall
Prestwold Hall is a dream to film at. Every corner of the house feels cinematic with high ceilings, warm tones, and windows that pour light in from every side. The grounds are just as beautiful, offering space to breathe and to wander. Whether it is a still morning over the lawns or golden light through the trees, it is a place that always gives something special on camera.
Morning Preparations
The morning felt calm and unforced, with Jessica surrounded by close friends and family. Light moved easily through the rooms, and there was a quiet sense of anticipation rather than nerves. It was one of those mornings where nothing needed rushing. Sam was getting ready in style too, with custom Savile Row suits that fit the day’s refined feel perfectly. What struck me most was how down-to-earth they both remained. No pretense, just excitement and love.
The Ceremony
Their church ceremony was everything a filmmaker hopes for, full of emotion and beautiful, real moments. The light fell softly through the stained glass, catching every (teary) expression as Jessica walked down the aisle. You could feel how much these two meant to everyone there. When vows are this honest, there is very little a camera needs to do, just quietly notice.
Reception and Speeches
Back at Prestwold Hall, guests filled the elegant rooms for drinks and laughter before heading inside for dinner. The speeches were heartfelt, full of personality and warmth, and gave everyone a glimpse into the journey Jessica and Sam had shared, from a Tinder match to a proposal at Breedon Church with a Ring Pop box. Those little human details, the ones that make you smile while filming, are what I live for.
Portraits
As the day softened into evening, we stepped outside for a quiet walk around the Hall. Nothing was staged or posed. Just space to breathe, talk, and enjoy being together.
The Evening and Party
Once the band started, the energy lifted instantly. From the first dance to a packed dance floor, Prestwold Hall came alive with joy. The chandeliers, the laughter, the rhythm, everything worked together to end the night with heart. It was the kind of evening that felt easy to stay present in, right until the very end.

I only take on a limited number of weddings each year, around twenty, so each film receives the care and attention it deserves. My couples tend to be relaxed, creative people who care more about how their day feels than how it looks on social media.
I film quietly, giving you space to be present, and I blend modern digital footage with nostalgic Super 8 film for couples who want something timeless and full of character. The result is a wedding film that does not just show what happened, but lets you feel it again.
If you’re planning a wedding at Prestwold Hall and this way of working feels right for you, I’d love to hear about your plans and see if I’m available for your date.
